We are using this intercom in a two story house. There are several problems. We have to speak very very slowly to be understood. There is a light beneath the main button that flashes, which is distracting at night. I have to leave the bedroom unit turned off at night. The unit in the bedroom and the one in the living room (same floor) interfere with each other if both are on. My biggest complaint is that it is so hard for my husband and I to understand each other through these units. We have to say a word, pause, say the next word, pause, and so on. It's very frustrating. Sometimes it is less frustrating to go downstairs than to try to communicate with this intercom. For what it cost I expected it to work much better than it has. We won't buy this brand again.

I reviewed the seller of this item separately because they are a very courteous and quickly responsive group. I haven't been refunded yet, but since this was not an Amazon product, my return had to be approved by the seller and they were prompt... same day service with their return procedure information.
If you have read the other reviews then you know that the sound quality of these units is sub-par. However, what they don't tell you is that it is almost impossible to get these babies connected to the network and each other. The directions are absolutely cryptic. I brought the units and the directions to a Christmas gathering with 18 people and we all tried for hours to get all three units on the same network and were unable to. We were finally able to get two of them connected just fiddling around with them but the third unit could never be connected. I bought these for our Insurance Agency so that I could communicate with two other agents who were in different offices close to mine... kind of like a walkie talkie set up. However, when we tested the two units that we were able to connect, the static was so intense that it was absolutely impossible to communicate. One of the units began to emit a high pitched squealing that we could not get to turn off so we had to quickly remove the batteries to get it to shut down. It disturbed other agents trying to work around us and for a time I felt like throwing it at a wall to quiet it down the shrieking was so horrendous. As I stuggled to get the back off the battery compartment to remove the batteries to quiet the unit, people from other offices started popping their heads in the door thinking it was our fire alarm!!
We don't know if the problems were caused by interference from the other electronics in the office (our VOip phones for instance) or what, but much improvement needs to be done on these units before they are worth purchasing... The manufacturer could start by clarifing the directions for set up, which was an impossible feat even for a cast of 18 people!!

I read about this product and thought, how stupid. Its nice that it can be battery powered, but sometimes you want to use power if its on a nightstand. Stupid of amazon to not say so, but it can take a 12 volt adapter to power from wall. I read this on another site. Does it come with one? Who knows. They don't say on this site.
I don't have this product. I just thought I would pass the info on.
