Does What I NeedJun 22, 2010
By Charles M. Lamb I wanted a device that alerted me when someone walked under my carport. Not a siren but ding like a door chime. I put a piece of white electrical tape over the light and a piece over the bottom half of the sensor. I mounted them (I purchased 2) about chest high. No falses and I have both ends of my carport covered with one at each end. Sensor range seems to be about 25 ft. Had it now for about 3 weeks and I can't complain.... NOW the negative.. The company that sells this product is a FRAUD! They advertise this product as a SET of 2... In fact it is ONE set containing 2 pieces.. They are selling this item for double the price. When I got the first shipment, which I thought would be 2 sets I was aggravated. In order to avoid the hassle of trying to get a second one I just went back online and ordered t separate packages for the price they charged for what they called a set of 2. Now I thought I was getting these 2 from a different company but in reality it was the same company as the first, just using a different name. When that order came I checked to make sure they both worked and then I done a return for the first order. Got all my money back and they got one of their detectors switched from the second order. Since I knew I was getting the same thing and had already opened the first one, I just sent them one from the second set back. Still this company is a ripoff. This post was originally for the second order but ened up under my first one. I had already gave them a negative review concerning their advertising and pricing concerning the set of 2 ad...

Still trying to get it to work rightJan 27, 2010
By 4owls Sometimes it works great and sometimes is doesn't. I get false alarms about once every 3 or 4 hours. Maybe two or three false alarms at once. I have tried covering part of the sensor with 'tape' as directed in the instructions, and I've tried other sets of fresh batteries.
I haven't tried relocating to see if that stops the false alarms yet.
I noticed if you turn off the receiver and back on, then it seems to work good for several hours.
One time the mail man walked by and it didn't notice him. That makes me wonder how many other times it didn't work.
I think it does have a use, on certain times when your expecting someone, you can use it then and get some benefit.

It works, but... False tripsJan 27, 2010
By J. Ostlund I got this item after someone went into my open garage door and stole my Trek bike (yes I have some blame because the garage was open, but I had only gone into the backyard for a few minutes). I placed it in my garage and it does signal every time someone passes it or any movement (such as the door rolling down). I got two of the units, thinking I would place one at my front walkway. Within a short time the one on outside on the walkway would trip without any clear reason why. So much so that I took it down. After talking with someone else I know who got one, they too took an outdoor unit down for the false trips. Perhaps there is too much other movement outside, though my placement was sheltered between the house and fence with no trees, bushes or anything that moves with the wind.

Disappointed because although the receiver has a place for a DC adaptor it does not work.Feb 20, 2010
By Rosie The receiver does work on the 3 C cell batteries but has a plug on for a 4.5 dc adaptor but it will not work on the adaptor. I have had these before and I like them otherwise but do not like having to put batteries in the receiver.
