4Great little night lightSep 07, 2009
By Y. Chi
The GE motion sensor night light is a pretty good night light. I bought 3 motion sensing night lights for my apartment and here's my review of all of them for comparison. The GE night light has a yellowish candescent bulb so it's bright, but mellow. The Maxxima is very bright in comparison because of the LED's white light. The GE bulb, however, is slightly brighter than the milky white Target brand "AmerTac" LED motion sensor night light though. The GE sensor can pick up from ~6-8 ft (a little shorter than the Maxxima and a little farther than the Target one) which is still pretty good, but the motion sensing angle isn't that good only about 120-145 degrees. I tried it in the hallway, and I have to stumble a couple feet before it picks up my movement. The night light is normal sized, so if you plug into the top socket, there's room for something else in the second socket. The light stays on for a good period of time, about ~60 sec. I prefer it over the Maxxima ~30 sec and the Target brand one that seems to stay on forever (it turns off after a couple minutes). If you were to get a bunch of them (instead of getting all different kinds like me), I think I would choose the GE one for the most uniformity and balance of features (it is a bit more expensive then the other options though).

5GE 50723 Motion Sensor Night LiteFeb 11, 2009
By Cathy Collins
This light is by far the best sensor motion night lite I've ever used (and I've used several). I already had a couple from several years back, but couldn't find additional ones in the stores. So glad I found them on Amazon! What makes these lights great is that 1)they put out a good amount of light 2)the sensor field is about 180 degrees, so they pick up movement before you are standing directly in front of the light. Terrific product. If I find any other place that needs another light, I'll definitely order more.

5The best nightlight I've found.Jan 18, 2009
By K. Jellander
Not only does it have a light sensor, but it also has a motion sensor, which means that it turns itself on when it's dark and it senses movement, so that it doesn't stay on all night needlessly or annoyingly. It has a wide range of motion sense and stays on for just the right amount of time to get you where you're going. Granted, you need to find just the right spot for it, but in the hallway at the top of our stairs and right outside our bedroom it is absolutely perfect for us.

3Good design but 2 out of 5 ordered stopped working within 1 weekFeb 04, 2010
By A. Baumgartner
I like this product very much, however only 3 out of the 5 that I recieved are still working, they have a limited lifetime warranty so I will be sending 2 back to the manufacturer for replacements.

Even so, I would buy again because it is a great product, but it is a sad fact that their quality control is terrible, at least for the batch of nightlights I bought, (40% failure rate in the 1st week). Like most small electronics these days, they are not made in this country, however that is no longer a good excuse for poor quality control.

4Horizontal or Upright Socket makes a differenceJun 11, 2009
By sf reviews "monki415"
Great item. Only draw back is that upright is the best position. I needed this as a hallway light. The light socket on the hallway is position like this (==) so when I plug this light in, it's horizontal (not upright like the picture). The problem with this is that when it is horizontal, it can only detect motion from 1 direction as opposed to both directions if the light was upright (the round ball is motion detector).
