 Great little alarm for the priceNov 24, 2009

I bought two of these and used them for motion detection rather than using the door sensor option. They are simple. I put mine up using the 3M removable sticky tabs. I did not get this to fool a real intelligent burglar. I bought these for the the more common teenage/stupid burglar. If they pass by the motion sensor, it chirps, then chirps again. That is the delay. Then it goes full alarm. It is very loud. Would scare the stew out of the average burglar and they would leave quickly. I like that it works on AAA batteries.

Short review: Device does what it says. Easy to mount on the wall, uses standard batteries and not watch-type button batteries like some similar devices do. Long battery life even with daily use. I use it as a motion detector and it detects motion quickly and goes off loud enough to startle someone. Tip - if you're trying to protect an area and can't afford monitored systems, then mount this on the wall behind where a door opens, that way when someone opens the door and it goes off, when they turn around it might not be so visible than if you place it right inside the door. It will still go off when the door is open and breaks the beam, but is harder to spot and MIGHT scare them off.

I agree with a previous post that this is not for the professional burglar; but it does deter the amateurs.

THIS WAS SO EASY TO INSTALL (A CAVEMAN...ETC). JUST REMEMBER YOUR CODE AND HOPE THAT ANY INTRUDER DOES NOT "JUST" REMOVE THE BATTERIES! TO GAIN ACCESS...DOPES...! THE PRICE WAS RIGHT. THIS WILL KEEP TEENAGERS OUT BUT NOT THE PRO'S!

This item would not operate properly at all. I was frustrated, angry and diappointed. Throw it away. What a waste of good money!!! Positive reviews are not always right.
