3Great for short distancesMay 24, 2009
By SEAN MCMILLAN
I bought this for a door about 60 feet from the livingroom. The first unit was defective. Upon pushing the doorbell only 8 feet away, the video image would only display for about 2 seconds. It was advertised to display for 3o seconds. I exchanged the unit for another
(Amazon is great !).
The second unit displayed the image for the full 30 seconds up to 45 feet away. The image was clear and strong until that 45 feet. Once I got the unit outside behind a wall, the image was broken and only a few seconds long, no matter the channel setting or positioning of the transmitter or receiver. In short, the unit is great for shorter unobstructed uses. Funny thing though, the anti-theft feature activates the camera when you open the unit to change the channels, there must be a different antnae for that because the image is great and long lasting ( I guess that eats up the battery to much to be used for the doorbell). I really liked the features and only wished it worked in a real world home setting. If you're going to be that close to the door, you could always just look out the peep hole.

5Excellent ProductDec 28, 2008
By Jacqueline Anderson
I purchased this video doorbell for my home. The product arrived
quickly and the order process was very easy as well. The installation
was very simple and the directions were easy to follow. The product
works as described. The video screen displays a clear picture in both
day and night mode. The ability to carry the wireless receiver to any room is a great convenience. The motion detector is a nice feature
that not only lets me know who is coming to the door before they ring
the doorbell but its nice to know when the mailman has come. The
flashing strobe light and the chime are more than ample to alert you.

3Expected moreDec 18, 2008
By Eduardo Schmidt
I was not satisfied with the product, I expected much more. The reception is not very good and the image quality is good depending on the background light. I would do more research for similar products. Also, there is no audio, although the manual mentions it will be a future feature.

1It cuts off my Internet connection!Jan 28, 2010
By Shopaholic1
I thought this would be great, but once it was set up, EVERYTHING triggered it to go off. And everytime it activated it would cause my Verizon internet connection to be lost! And if you have a metal door forget about using it. It has to be mounted to a non metal surface because being near anything metal interferes with the signal, so it sets it off constantly and the picture has so much static its unviewable. Basically ended up being a waste of money.

1Doesn't work, and Honeywell doesn't support itJun 14, 2010
By San Diego Customer
UPDATE: Why aren't there "negative stars"?! The "support" ph # for Honeywell is 800-468-1502, but James (and 4 other support reps) kept me on-hold for over a 1/2 hour (at 6 am PDT) with no clue of how to get the video working. I returned the first unit as defective, and the second unit also doesn't work. BTW, the ph # is only on the box -- not in the instructions, and if you call the main Honeywell #, they claim that they don't make this product. Oh, but you *do* get to listen to commercials for Honeywell while on hold, turned up to super high volumes. Idiots.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!! I just realized that there's no audio or intercom, too - just a chime!! (that is misleading, and added to the fact that the video doesn't work, makes this worthless)

Cheap, shoddy unit. Spent 3 days and hours of fun with no video and minimalistic instructions. I think the positive reviews are "shills" and liars. Base is supposed to work off rechargeable batteries (pre-installed) but it must be on the recharging base to work! Why use batteries and not just plug in the AC adapter to the base, since the rechargeable batteries can't power it in case of power failure anyway! Spent waaay too much time with 10 phone calls to Honeywell on the phone. They just tell you to call other numbers and complain that you called them (using the number on their website). Zero support, and they claim that they don't even make the product, but they play loud, obnoxious ads while you're on hold with them, and then try to sell you a multi thousand dollar factory enterprise security system as a replacement. So dumb, it's almost funny if I weren't wasting my valuable time.

Piece of junk!
