2OK, but beware of a few things:Jul 13, 2009

I bought this in conjunction with a handful of window and door contacts to use with my Honeywell base doorbell unit.

1. Other poster is absolutely correct - the instructions are unbelievably BAD. In fact I think they probably do more harm than good.

2. One thing that was not clear before I bought was that you need to buy one of these extenders for EVERY set of door/window contacts you buy! That can add up in price if you want to cover all your doors, not to mention low level windows! Sheesh...doesn't mention this ANYwhere in description. I assumed it wirelessly (like the base unit) controlled any door or window contacts installed. But noooooooooo.

I also think that if you were to use this as just a "push" that it doesn't look anything like a "normal" push so I can understand that people would knock instead, ironically. They should have designed it to look more like the white, dedicated pushes that comes with the base system instead, imo. Those are very obviously doorbell pushses...this looks more like a...retina scanner or something. :)

4A review.Apr 27, 2009

This works as an 'extender' for the Wireless Door Contacts by connecting a small gauge wire and is not needed for the Wireless Motion Detector.

The wire works as a 'converter' by tapping into an existing hard wired system (with a small gauge wire); Which I completely gutted after playing with this Wireless Door Chime and Push Button system.

I had to write a note on mine, saying, "DOORBELL" as visitors to my house did not know what it was... and were knocking. Which is frustrating when you are excited about a product.

4Performs wellJan 27, 2010

Having been so satisfied with the Honeywell wireless door chime, Honeywell RCWL330A1000/N P4-Premium Portable Wireless Door Chime and Push Button we then bought the Converter/Extender/Pushbutton.

This add-on device Honeywell RPWL3045A1003/A Wireless Premium Portable Converter/Extender/Push Button worked perfectly to tie in an existing driveway alarm to the Honeywell door chime. We hardwired this device to the 'normally open' contacts on our driveway alarm unit. Now when the driveway alarm gets a signal, it closes its output N/O contacts, which triggers the Honeywell extender device. The Honeywell extender then transmits the signal to the main Honeywell Door Chime unit. So now we have three distinct tones set up on the main Door Chime: one tone for the house pushbutton, one for the shop pushbutton, and one for the driveway alarm system.

Works perfectly every time. There are other uses for this device with the Honeywell Door Chime system.

5Honeywell Converter/Extender/Push ButtonFeb 11, 2010

This doorbell extender works just the way it is intended too. The instructions are clear and cover several different applications that will make the chime usable in many varied ways. I live in Alaska and in the winter outside temperatures are constantly 0 degrees or colder and the wireless pushbutton supplied with the chime is only operable down to about +14 degrees F. In hooking up the extender, I ran a wire through the wall from the outside connecting to a manual push botton. The other end of the wire I connected to the extender mounted on the inside wall. The extender sends a wireless signal to the chime when the outside manual button is pushed. This is not a completely wireless system, but works very well without any external electrical power. The Converter/Extender/Push Button is very ingenious and again I say works in many various applications that are covered explicitly in the instructions. The only drawback I see is that the product needs a more detailed discription so that customers are able to see how it may be used with the chime. They would then see the invaluable uses of the extender before purchasing.

I believe one extender can be wired to accomodate several window detectors. Check it out before buying several extenders.

PS I do not work for Honeywell.

2HELP-How do you extend range with this??Jun 30, 2009
By Unnamed
I'm reduced to begging other users for this information. I tried calling Honeywell SEVERAL TIMES, and they act very irritated, put me on hold, then drop me. I got no help from them at all. This is a really good system, but I need the range extended, and can not figure out how to do it!!!! The worst instruction manual I have ever seen.
