You get what you pay for...Oct 19, 2010

Worked well for about 1 month, then sucked the batteries dry (which are expensive). After replacing the batteries with new ones, they really don't work very well at all. It's a very simple construction, but it's built very cheaply. These things are very poor quality, I'm throwing them away and buying some reputable ones.

Very poor quality.May 26, 2010

I purchased these from Safety First about 5 years ago for two little boys, then 2, that kept 'escaping'! They are great! Now having a child who is sleepwalking, I couldn't find them from SF, so I ordered these. Are these people serious? The first two out of the package fell apart. They are really poorly made. The concept is great, and you have two options, alarm or chime. They DO work, just not these particular ones. Try to find them from a better company. I can say they were well packaged, and I can say shipping was amazingly fast. That's all I can say good. The product itself was absolute junk. I am really disappointed and will continue to look for better quality.

Feeling saferFeb 21, 2010
By Patricia Norris I just bought these alarms again! I take care of a dementia patient, who can get the doors open. This product has protected her and I from her escaping. This time I'm placing them higher on the doors, near the top, as she was able to remove the ones I bought in the past. This also gives me peace of mind at night, knowing if someone broke in an alarm would go off. I also used these in my apartment. It has two settings alarm and chime. Great security for a very small price!

You are not buying what is being shown on this page!Mar 19, 2011
By Derrick English While the title of the item is "Mini Door & Window Contact Alarm & Chime Set of 4", there is no chime on this product. There is simply an on or off switch. These are easy enough to install if your window does not have a metal lip, but there is only an off or on button. You will have to make the extra effort to turn the unit on before you leave if it is a door or window you frequently use before you leave the house.
And the chime part of the unit simply doesn't exist.
I would also like to add that although the item description does not state it, they do come with batteries inside the unit, however the batteries were dead in 4 of the 16 units.
I would not purchase this item if only for the false advertising.

Works great, and great price!Aug 13, 2009
By BAGS Works great, I use it to make sure my preschooler can't sneak out the house. Also would work well on the chime setting to alert a business that customers are coming in or out. Price was great too!
