Great for a group photo if you need a quick stand but are too lazy to actually have a real tripodOct 28, 2009

Im a complete amateur. I take photos of people and things i deem cool or whatever, so im considered i guess your tourist type of photographer. For instance, I would never consider lugging around a real DSLR camera and tripod around. Too much work. I just have a canon point and shoot tucked nicely in my pocket. One time while i was setting up for a timed group photo my camera almost fell, so after scouting around amazon and overstock i came upon this little thing. It's perfect. Small, light weight, and sturdy (enough for a point and shoot anyways) and more importantly cheap. Great if you need to just prop your camera up on something it'll fit right into your pocket.
Failure within 24-hoursNov 25, 2011
By J from SoCal This is a knock-off of a very good mini-tripod, made by HAMA, which I purchased at the Bangkok airport 8-years ago. At the time I presumed the HAMA was going to fall apart, but I would give it a try. I was surprised to discover the HAMA was robust despite my abuse, and versatile. But THIS POS uses plastic where HAMA uses metal; it wouldn't hold positions and fell apart during testing. Oh well, it was so cheap that it wasn't worth my time negotiating a return...but posting this review is quick. Search for the legitimate HAMA-original (can't find on Amazon), which I DO recommend as a cheaper/lighter alternative to a Leica, Manfrotto Joby or Slik.
Not worth $4Mar 21, 2011

I would spend a few extra bucks and get somethign decent. This thing is worthless; the ball joint doesn't hold even a tiny point and shoot; its all plastic, has already broken on me.
Legs don't lock in place properlyNov 02, 2010
By A. Brodsky Not a bad mini tripod, but the legs are a bit loose, so they will slide down to easily. Not bad for the price though
