Great for the price.Jan 21, 2010
By M. R. WONG I bought two of these for my father-in-law's internet cafe. First off, there are two security cameras in this package. one is for longer distance with more view and wider angle. the other is for shorted/closer distance of filming/recording with more narrow angle.
We have tried to use these camera for both indoor and outdoor. We have found that these are better for indoor use. If put outside of house, the bright sunlight outside will make all the background white. I think this is what happen to the camera mentioned in the first review, hence he mentions the "white out". However, if used indoor, the color is very good and it is very clear and easy to tell the faces of our customers. In fact, it is so good for indoor uses that we have decided to purchase our second pair of security cameras. These are really great cameras and at night, it is also good, but kind of unclear as to the faces of people at night, but still you can monitor the surroundings and know if there is/are people walking around, its very easy to see and we just connect these cameras to a Q-See DVR, which we bought separately with discount. Then, we connect the DVR to a 15 inch LCD monitor. We love the price and the quality for the price. Very good purchase. And is recommended highly for small offices and indoor uses.

Awesome pair of cameras!Aug 13, 2010
By leno2002 All I can say is that I love the QSICC2. I purchased one at Fry's and it was great. So I bought the QSICC2PK because it had two of them. I read M.R.Wong's review about the cameras having a wide angle and regular angle lens. Sure enough, he was right.
The 3.6mm lens is for wide angle viewing.
The 6.0mm lens is for long range viewing. It's like seeing a zoomed in version of the 3.6mm lens.
I uploaded 2 pictures on here so you can see the difference. The cameras were positioned in the same spot and the difference is incredible. Each has it's own particular advantage. Wide angle lets you see everything that's going on around a large area, while the long range lens allows you to be zoomed in and focused on a particular spot (like at the front door to capture faces or in a parking lot to capture an entrance or even license plates).
The night vision is also impressive. These cameras are not as grainy as other cameras that I have used. They're not the greatest cameras on the planet of course, but for the price they do a great job. You get so much value out of these cameras. Which is why I've purchased another 2 pack.
AWESOME CAMERAS!!!

They are usable indoors or Out. Indoors the IFR makes the picture look like it is in bright light. Outside the range is somewhat limited and the picture much darker at night.

Overheats too Easily.Jun 03, 2011
By Brewski For a cheap pair of cameras, they are pretty decent given the features they have. Color CMOS chip means you won't be getting the best picture in the world, but if you set this up correctly, it will be more than enough. IR lights have maybe a 15ft distance to them and work well indoors. The camera does not switch to B/W when the IR lights become active. IR Lights also seem to be more of a "spotlight" than a general area, so they will only affect whats directly in front of the camera itself. The IR lights show red to the naked eye, and even more powerful to a cell phone camera. Image can be grainy due to the cheap imager, especially at night.
For installation, if you use this camera to its abilities, you can get amazing results. Place the camera as close to the subject or area you are wanting to monitor. This gives the IR lights a chance to do their job, and the ability to capture a face or other identifying detail that you can hand off to the authorities. Too close (1-3ft) and your subject will be totally washed out from the IR lights. If you keep the camera too far away, you can see general motion during the lit hours, but you won't be getting any detail needed to make an identification, especially not at night.
The camera can be powered from your computer if you use one of the 12V lines off of a molex connector. At 200ma, the camera won't affect your computer (and if your computer is your DVR, it reduces the risk of ground loop noise in both video and audio)
(NOTE: I did not test the audio functions of the camera since my system cannot record audio.)
UPDATE: Within the first day, one of the cameras failed. I heard a "pop" from inside the camera and smelled electrical smoke. Not a good sign.
UPDATE2: 2nd Camera is overheating, and plug is heating up too. Will be switching back to original power supply instead of using the computer. To me, being able to power off the 12V in the computer is a requirement, and all my other cameras are able to do so with no issue.
UPDATE3: 2nd Camera failed. Using the power adapter it came with, the video went fuzzy and now it does not produce a video signal at all. The camera, its plug, and the wall transformer all became ridiculously hot. Sending the units back.
