Excellent 1st choice - AmazingDec 14, 2008
By K9kuvasz Pro's: (1) Easy setup, (2) provided software works well, (3) Ip7132 wireless or wired whereas IP7131 wired only.
Con's: (1) Vivotek Customer e-mail support, (2) Manual/Documentation
*This is my first camera.
*First and Foremost -- this IP7132 camera is amazing.
*I just received this IP7132. I haven't figured it all out yet.
*Setup -- Easy.
*IMPORTANT: Initial camera setup, must connect wired -- when done, then go wireless.
*Provided software - lots of configuration options/choices.
*Manual/Documentation cons -- Not enough detail, usually with trial and error, you'll figure it out. But why?? The manual(s) desperately need improvement.
*Vivotek e-mail support cons -- No response in three days. High side -- I called Sunnyvale (USA support). A person 'DID' answer and worked hard to resolve my issue.
*Acer AspireOne is a netbook - screen = 8.9". The Vivotek displays are fixed and cannot be resized to fit on the small display. I tried to setup for a long time with my AspireOne without success. I moved to my Desktop monitor, everything was displayed, then the install went quickly.
*Software: I'm using it on an Asus Eee Box and Acer AspireOne - no problems other than Fixed displays.
*Storage space - If recording, make sure you have some spare GBs available.
*Lense Focus is manual. 'NO' PTZ with this cam (pan/tilt/zoom)
*Final: I hope to acquire a IP7139 this coming week.
